MARDE, with the support of TA ENPARD, initiated and carried out on 22.01.2019, consultation regarding the draft project of the “National Program for the Development of the Milk Sector in the Republic of Moldova, 2019-2025”.
The Secretary of State, responsible for animal origin products, Mr. Veaceslav Cernat, together with Ms. Tatiana Nistorica, Head Directorate from MARDE, organized a working session with the participation of civil society, business, scientific environment and associations to discuss the draft of “National Program for Development of the Milk Sector in the Republic of Moldova, 2019- 2025”.
During the discussions, Mr. Veaceslav Cernat spoke about the social and economic importance of the dairy sector, in first place, and also about the fact that this sector is a source of food of superior biological value. In this context, it is a priority to stimulate investment in the dairy farms, which will allow the use of modern technologies in farms, nutrition and animal husbandry, and will significantly increase their productivity and obtain competitive products both for the domestic market and for export.
Those present agreed that the new policy paper presented by Ms. Tatiana Nistorica reflects a detailed analysis of the situation in the milk production and processing sectors as well as the current trends in latest years. The objectives and actions proposed for consultation will ensure a sustainable and durable development of the milk sector in the Republic of Moldova, creating the premises for export, including on the European Union market.
